Olivier Cœnon | Managing Partner
Prior to founding Caurus late 2010, Olivier Cœnon was a member of the Executive Committee of the global Wealth Management business of BNP Paribas, in charge of Development, Partnerships, and Business Owners. He started his career at the Financial Institutions Group of Paribas in Geneva, before moving to Paris to work on M&A assignments on a global basis in financial services, including investment banking, retail financial services, wealth and asset management. He has more than 25 years of M&A experience in financial services. He graduated with honors from Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po).
Akram Ben Mustapha | Partner
Prior to becoming a partner of Caurus in 2012, Akram Ben Mustapha worked for Freeman & Co., the New York-based M&A firm focused on financial services which is now part of Houlihan Lokey. He covered US and European asset managers and worked on various cross-Atlantic M&A transactions in financial services (alternative investments, traditional asset management, brokerage, structured products). He started his career at Arthur Andersen, where he conducted assignments for major investment banks and asset management units of leading French financial institutions. He studied finance and accounting at Dauphine University in Paris.
Keith Gapp | Partner
Keith Gapp became a partner of Caurus in 2016. Previously, from 2007, he was Head of Strategy & Marketing, and member of the Executive Committee, of EFG International, based in Zurich. From 1999-2007, he was a co-founder and managing partner of GMQ, a strategic consulting boutique serving a blue-chip client base of leading private banks/wealth managers. He spent 13 years at Barclays Group, where he held a variety of senior management roles, including Head of Premier International, and Head of Finance & Planning, Barclays Offshore Services. He read Economics at King's College, Cambridge University.
Charles Pétré | Executive Director
Prior to Caurus, Charles Pétré was a member of the Rothschild & Co. FIG team, where he was involved in various French and Benelux engagements, in particular in the Private Banking and Wealth Management sectors. Previously, Charles worked at Precision Capital in Luxembourg, where he participated in the sale of BIL - Banque Internationale à Luxembourg to Legend Holdings and bolt-on acquisitions for the KBL franchise. Charles initially started with Deloitte Corporate Finance in Luxembourg, and graduated from Dauphine University.
Thierry Marais | Senior Advisor
Prior to Caurus, Thierry Marais was until 2022 deputy head of EMEA Banks coverage at BNP Paribas and senior banker for major French private and state-owned financial Institutions. Between 2001 and 2012, Thierry headed the FIG M&A practice at BNP Paribas and was involved in landmark transactions in the financial sector. Before BNP Paribas, he worked in M&A at Edmond de Rothschild and Banque Stern. Thierry is a graduate from ESC Rouen and is a member of the French Financial Analyst Society.
